A WIN for Tropic Air at the 10to4

Our engineering team took FIRST prize in the ‘Rush’ event – 56.6 km off-road in 2 hours and 40 minutes! A few falls but great (and unexpected) result, with Anthony also claiming 2nd individual in this event. Well done guys – amazing team spirit! Thank you Mount Kenya Trust for organising another thrilling Mount Kenya 10to4 Mountain Bike Challenge

Not only did we have a team competing, but we provided a helicopter to carry the film crew and medics to respond, and where necessary, airline injured athletes to hospital. This picture was taken at sunrise on day of the main event.

Rescue of a tiny Baby Baboon – Congo

This is the first time we have flown a baby baboon, and being able to help with this particular rescue was a great pleasure. ‘Missa’ as she has been named by the Centre de Rehabilitation des Primates de Lwiro in the Congo where she now lives, was found by Garamba National Park rangers in the possession of a bushmeat poacher. It is assumed that her mother was killed for bushmeat, and that she would have had the same fate.

This traumatic start to Missa’s life is now on a better path, with the care and safety of the team at Lwiro, and a bonding to ‘Grace’ – an adult female baboon who was rescued from a hotel where she was living alone in a tiny cage. A touching story and a happy solution for them both!
