Chad

By Helicopter

Sometimes called the 'Soul of the Sahara', Chad is a country for the intrepid traveller. With few roads and limited tourism infrastructure, of all the African countries it is one of the least visited. Its appeal lies in the fact that it is virtually unexplored, with rugged wild landscape of deserts and mountains. The multitude of habitats once supported the most unique and diverse wildlife species on the continent.

Soul of the Sahara

“I enjoyed getting back to the clean harshness of the desert, the simplicity of desert life, the comradeship of desert peoples, to camels, the vast openness of the sands and the freedom of the mountains.” Sir Wilfred Thesiger, 1938
