Nanyuki Airfield

Nanyuki Airfield is located the heart of Kenya on the western foot hills of Mount Kenya, at 6,550 feet, just 8km south of the equator.  Tropic Air set up its base here in the early 1990’s, and today Nanyuki airfield is a vibrant hub, linking Samburu and other northern destinations, with Nairobi, the Maasai Mara and Meru. 

 

Barney's Bar & Restaurant

All day breakfast, Kenyan coffee Italian style, Barneys burgers and salads are served from 8am to 5pm.  This is a garden style restaurant, with excellent home-style cooking, using fresh and locally sourced produce.  The wide veranda and outside seating provides the perfect place to wait for flights, to break the road journey from Nairobi, and to enjoy a social lunch with friends.  Barneys has a Wi-Fi connection, so anyone needing to do some work while they wait, can easily log on.

Barneys was set up in 2006 in memory of our friend and pilot Barney Sessions who was killed in a plane accident in 2001.
