A pioneer in heli-safaris, Tropic Air specialises in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. 100’s of hours have been spent exploring the most spectacular and remote mountains, valleys, forests and deserts. Across the African continent we are also experienced in helicopter aerial photography, geo-survey and mountain rescues.

Scenic Flights | Helicopter Adventure Kenya | Best Experiences KenyaMount Kenya We offer incredible scenic excursions to the peaks of Mount Kenya. At 17,058 feet (5,200 metres) Mt Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain. The glacier-capped peaks are only 10 miles south of the Equator. The mountain was a volcano created three million years after the opening of the East African Rift. At one time it may have been taller than Everest. Your helicopter will land you at a spectacular lake where you can spend a few hours fly-fishing for rainbow trout and enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast. To experience the mountain at its best, visits are scheduled in the early morning, arriving on the mountain at 7.30 am. Samburu, the Mathews and Ol Lolokwe Samburu lies in northern Kenya and stretches from Laikipia and the Ewaso Nyiro River, to the southern end of Lake Turkana. Within this vast area lies Samburu National Reserve - one of Kenya’s most visited tourist destinations. We offer exhilarating scenic excursions to the more unexplored and remote regions within Samburu, landing for a picnic breakfast on the Mathews Range - which rise from the dry desolate country exposing lush forested hills and craggy peaks. We also visit Ol Lolokwe - a sacred mountain of Samburu people, which stands 1000 meters above the surrounding plains. It’s sheer rock face and flat summit gives it a distinctive shape even from great distances. The mountain's top is forested and set about with giant, ancient cycads that spill down the cliff faces. It is also home to Kenya’s largest nesting colony of Ruppells’ Griffin Vultures. Your helicopter will collect you from your lodge or camp and take you on an exhilarating flight across beautiful landscapes full of wildlife before touching down on the summit of Ol Lolokwe. We will take a short walk in the forest and enjoy cool drinks on the cliff edge. Lakes in the Great Rift Valley On the western side of Kenya, north of the equator and located just 30km apart, are two of Kenya’s most exciting lakes – Baringo and Bogoria – both scenically spectacular, but each so different to one another! Lake Baringo is a truly beautiful fresh water lake - critical habitat for nearly 500 bird species, and home to hippo and crocodile. Here, the Njemps fishermen continue a lifestyle little changed over 200 years. Lake Bogoria offers an equally thrilling, but very different spectacle. A shallow alkaline lake with a salinity about twice that of seawater, framed by the dramatic 700 meter Siracho Range, is most famous for its flamingo that line the white salty shores. A day excursion to Lake Baringo and Bogoria is another exciting trip. The diversity of the landscapes, the unique birdlife and the unique natural features, makes this trip one of our most sought after. Northern kenya by helicopter Wild in character, remote in nature and vastly unexplored - Lake Turkana, our destination, is the world’s largest permanent desert lake, and renders some of Kenya’s most exciting landscapes. Located in the far north of Kenya, its volcanic shores have revealed the oldest-known fossil remains of Homo habilis, and the area has made significant contribution to human evolution studies.
