A pioneer in heli-safaris, Tropic Air specialises in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. 100’s of hours have been spent exploring the most spectacular and remote mountains, valleys, forests and deserts. Across the African continent we are also experienced in helicopter aerial photography, geo-survey and mountain rescues.

Tropic Air provides helicopter support to geo-survey teams working within remote and challenging areas of East Africa.  Moving personnel and equipment, or providing other logistical support for geological studies, oil exploration and geothermal surveys are tasks that Tropic Air is experienced with.

Most recently we have been working with Tullow Oil in the Turkana Rift Basin supporting their exploration missions. In 2010 we also worked with Tullow Oil in Madagascar.

Last year, we flew students from Potsdam University within the Sugata Valley, during their geological survey – which included collecting sediment samples, rocks and anything else of interest from this inaccessible region of northern Kenya.

We have also worked closely with the Geothermal Development Company on geothermal surveys throughout Kenya.
