Tropic Air is a small, privately owned business, set up in the early 1990’s by Jamie Roberts.
Tropic Air’s Ops team handle enquires, bookings, quotations, flight planning and flight logistics.
From our modern hanger, under the expertise of a trained and experienced team, Tropic Air carries out all of its own scheduled maintenance.
Barney’s Restaurant – Nanyuki Airfield
Adding to the charm of Nanyuki Airfield is Barney’s – a garden restaurant with excellent home-style cooking, using fresh and locally sourced produce. The wide veranda and outside seating provides the perfect place to wait for flights, to break up the road journey from Nairobi and to enjoy a social lunch with friends. Barney’s has a Wi-Fi connection, so anyone needing to do some work while they wait can easily log on. The Tropic Air office is located adjacently, for air charters and helicopter services throughout Kenya.

Barney’s was set up in 2006 in memory of our friend and pilot Barney Sessions who was killed in a plane accident in 2001.
